Last week’s training was a bust. I was in Boston for the Healthy Living Summit and I knew it just wasn’t going to happen. The event organizers did a great job of accommodating people who wanted to run longer distances, but it was Saturday morning before the conference and I knew that wasn’t going to work for me. Instead, we walked everywhere and did a CrossFit workout Saturday morning.
This week was marginally better. Thought I didn’t get any runs done during the week, I managed to crank out 9 miles Saturday morning.
It wasn’t too bad of a run – the weather was perfect (overcast & about 70). I am going to have to look into some mid-run fueling options (Gu and Cliff shots have been recommended) because I was really struggling those last 2 miles. And, now, I am definitely feeling the affects of not running during the week. I never thought I’d say this, but I”m looking forward to getting back to work in a few weeks and back to a schedule for workouts and running!
Oh, and my biggest fear has always been coming across a snake on my runs. Apparently I should be worried about alligators too???
Are you a runner? How do you fuel during long runs?
