Half-marathon training: Week 5

This is officially the longest I have ever stuck to a training plan.

Even though I skipped a mid-week run.

Again.

But, 7 miles, done!

Yes, I said seven.

SEVEN!!

haha, this makes me think of that Friends episode …

Lessons learned this week:

  • YOU CAN DO THIS. This was the longest distance I’ve ever ran. Four years ago, I would have laughed at you if you told me to run 7 miles. Heck, I’d have laughed if you told me to run ONE!
  • This is not about fast; it’s about finishing. There’s no shame in walk breaks. Do what you gotta do to get through the next mile.
  • Running on the beach 2 days before a long run is HARD on the legs. But ya know what? I’m probably going to run on the beach every single chance I get.

Running on the beach just makes me HAPPY.
